Fellowship for Intentional Community
The home of planned, purposeful communality
“Intentional community” is an idea with a long history – Wikipedia has a good overview which you can read here. The FIC, which is primarily concerned with North American communities but also has international links, has a comprehensive and useful website which includes a directory and lots of resources for anyone interested in the concept of intentional community. Many of the FIC resources are available as free downloads – have a look at the list here.
FIC doesn’t specifically cater for senior communities, though its directory does include a handful. If you’re interested in the potential of living in a mixed-age community though, the directory indicates which of the several hundred existing and planned community projects welcome enquiries.
