EASI does it!
The Environmental Alliance for Senior Involvement
EASI is the largest senior environmental action network in the world, a nonprofit coalition of environmental, aging and volunteer organizations established in 1991 as the result of a visionary agreement between the US Environmental Protection Agency and the American Association of Retired Persons.
EASI’s mission is to increase opportunities for older adults to play an active, visible role in protecting and improving the environment in their communities. EASI’s partners include over 300 national, state and local public and private organizations. It operates in national parks, at Superfund sites, at threatened wetlands, farmlands and wildlife habitats, at streams and rivers, and in the classroom, one community at a time. More than 300 public and private agencies help fund and direct programs.
Though EASI is primarily a US program, it collaborates with international projects and is the model for similar organisations in other countries.
Their website gives details of the many initiatives they are involved in.
